Apa itu Therapy? What to Expect? Let’s Talk About It.
What should I expect in therapy?
Think of therapy as a safe pause button for your mind. Its a space to slow down, reflect, and untangle what’s been weighing on you. You can expect real conversations, curiosity, some laughter, and moments that feel like tiny lightbulbs turning on.
Do you diagnose disorders or prescribe medication?
Counsellors do not diagnose any illness, prescribe any psychotropics or medications, or monitor client’s usage of psychotropics or medications
How often should I attend therapy?
Every individual’s circumstances and needs are different. Some are content with just a few sessions, while some are dedicated to months of therapy for self-care. Discuss with your therapist at any time to adjust the frequency of your sessions. The decision is yours to make.
How early should I arrive at my appointment?
As sessions start and end on time, clients are encouraged to join the call 5 minutes earlier to test if your speaker and mic works to ensure we start on time. This is also to avoid cutting your session short. First-timers are requested to arrive at least 10 minutes before their appointment to meet their therapist and clarify details about policies.
What do I need to bring to the session?
Just yourself, but you can prepare yourself a beverage of your choice, a plush toy, anything at all, that helps you feel comfortable. If you like to take notes, bring a pen and notebook or type using your phone. Do remember to silent your phone for uninterrupted focus during therapy.
How will I communicate with my therapist?
You can reach out to me on WhatsApp if you have any questions about your sessions, things like scheduling, clarifications, or quick check-ins. If you're a new client, I provide a free consultation session that you can utilise to share any concerns you have pertaining therapy.

If you’re already an existing client, you can also drop me a message via the chat function on Safe Space. That’s where all your therapy-related communication stays private and secure.
How will session be conducted?
Therapy is conducted online via scheduled video call invites that you will receive once you make a session booking
Do you offer physical face-to-face sessions?
Currently, all counselling sessions are conducted online via scheduled video calls. I am able to accommodate to face to face sessions but it will be conducted at another mental health centre I am affiliated with. Please feel free to reach out for more information
How much do you charge per session?
I offer a free consultation for me to better understand your concerns. Individual sessions are at RM120 per session. I offer a package fee too for 6 sessions at RM480 (RM80 per session). There is also a special rate for students :) Find out more here
How long is each session?
Each session is a minimum of 50 minutes to 1 hour. You may extend each session to an additional 30 minutes for an additional fee, subjected to the availability of your therapist.
Can I eat or drink in sessions?
Yes, absolutely! You won't be able to focus, or feel relaxed if you're starving. Therapy is heavy on emotional work and you should help your body adjust to the difficult topic you may discuss during therapy.
